Many rooms have been dramatically improved with a wall of glass blocks, and the truth is that my downstairs bathroom could greatly benefit from a little daylight too, but I just can’t bring myself to do it. My cutting-edge interior designer friend swears they are back in style, claiming that the right clear blocks can add a modern and fresh element to almost any dark and dreary pad. Yet, all I can think of is Miami Vice when I see a wall of glass blocks – but then again, that was how I felt about skinny jeans and now I can’t live without them.
