And this firm’s unconventionality shows consistently in every project, including a brilliant space for five in Amagansett, New York . When the clients wanted to convert a conventional 1980’s sheetrock house into a country home, Alex Scott Porter Design was the perfect firm to look to. To create a space the clients would appreciate now and years into the future, the firm worked with unique style and materials—using a defunct barn frame to create the main living area , plus joining the room to the existing house with a glass and steel structure. Using a repeated pattern of concrete , limestone, patinated steel, and reclaimed wood , the firm created a space that is both sustainable and luxurious, a space that offers inner balance through a balanced environment, a truly natural habitat for the modern world.
